TWEAK

1 - To pinch, pluck, or twist sharply.
2 - To adjust, fine-tune
3 - To make fun of, tease.
4 - To completely overhaul, throw away, start over.
Okay, okay, I confess. I added the last one. More of an oversight correction, really. I never knew the little word carried such vast range in meaning until I encountered it in the context of novel writing :).
But that’s what I am doing over the next week — tweaking.
I sort of like tweaking, as long as I can find a way to get that annoying little line from Mary Poppins out my head. You know? The one that goes … “Because I was afraid to speak when I was just a lad, me father gave me nose a tweak an’ told me I was bad …”
Any advice out there for getting loopy tunes out your head? Especially ones you learned back … in ages too dark to mention?
My Path: Molly Hogan - Lost Lake Park
My Distance: 49.31mins — however far that took me.
My Music: Mother Long Tongue – Desmond Decker
Bear Sightings: Zero. Hah, they know I’m looking :). Saw squirrels, though. And ducks.
Take note who has to yield to what :). Right, like I’m not going to make way for a bruin.

You’re asking the person who can’t get the the Theme from Gilligan’s Island out of her head?
Try putting on a CD of your favorite music - with earphones if you have to. Or some people have success if they just sit down and actually sing the song out loud. Valium helps too *gg*

Damnation!! Now I have Gilligan’s tune in my head. Thanks, Eve
:) LOL — Valium option is looking more attractive.

Raindrops keep falling on my head, do do dooo! I replace one catchy tune with another of course!
Loreth, love the paths you run on. I am so jealous. Gorgeous, gorgeous land you have there. Do you run with an IPOD? I’m getting one soon and trying to decide which is good for running with.
Meretta Says:
ps I like tweaking too!

Meretta, I have an MP3 player. MuVo. I also have a newer one — a Dell DJ ditty with a rechargable battery that lasts forever — but I still have to figure out how to get that one to work. Can’t seem to load the songs. The MuVo is great, apart from the fact that you have to carry an extra battery if you go for runs of more than hour … which you will be doing SOON! ;). Also the MuVo doesn’t store enough music for a marathon distance, so you will be hearing the tunes more than once if you use it for the race. Both are smaller than the Ipod (although there may be smaller Ipods out there now, I haven’t been watching), and lightness is something you want for a run. Also have an armband it fits into, so you don’t need pockets. PS … I’m making you a CD of my favorite running tunes
.. the ones with nice beats for pacing.
Loreth Says:
IPod not so good for hearing bears, though

Ugh. Now I have Mary Poppins in my head!!! Lovely path Loreth. ER had some gorgeous African music last night. Must investigate.
I have been dropping hints about MP3 players for my birthday. More for the Reno sessions than anything
Meretta Says:
Oooh. That’s what the surprise is! Thanks!! And thanks for the info, too!
