And our doors open like all others. Bet we'd have a bit of a snow problem if they didn't ;). And these bruins -- certainly far removed from those scary polar types you mention -- get into houses any which way. They'll happily tear the siding right off the walls if their tummies are rumbling enough. This happened to us last summer. And several cars in our neighbourhood were broken in to. The bears just bend the door metal until the windows implode in a crunch of glass -- like a giant can opener :). ICBC deals with a whole other issue in these parts, I tell you :) :) So how do you tell the fish is a lady? Don’t know which bear. And our doors open like all others.
