Are there 32 ‘GREAT ROMANCES’ ?
Isabel Swift, Harelquin’s VP, Author & Asset Development, is looking for 32 great romances. From her blog:
“”Here is my challenge. While I am ensconsed in this lovely spot, eating amazing food, enjoying the conversation of most eclectic, facinating group of people—journalists, vintners, actors, filmakers, psychologists, writers, editors, pick an interesting profession, pick an interesting person, they are there—the gauntlet is thrown down. Are there 32 great romances? Could I come up with them? Would I be willing to contribute to a collection a fellow guest was compiling for a book? Well, things got a little heated there, but after the dust settled, I had convinced our hero (fellow guest and editor of book) that there were indeed at least 32 great romances and that I would try to pull something together for him in the tight time frame allotted. Now that I more fully understand my assignment, I must note that it is a total guy vision (competitive) but whatever. Need your suggestions of titles, authors, or where to look! “”
Any ideas? Head on over if you do…. I’m tending to think classic off the top, but I’m putting on the thinking cap (yes, I know, a scary thought
) ….. meanwhile, I think I’d like to be wherever it is that Isabel is
:)

I’m glad she clarified the HEA=romance thing. You see, I believe a romance has to have a HEA in order to be a romance. A love story doesn’t have to have the HEA - that’s where books like GWTW and The Notebook and even Love Story belong. They are stories about love, but not romance. Anyway, I put in my picks.

Off to throw in a couple of my favorites!
