MINUS MANY … DEGREES, THAT IS

There’s a reason people move out west in Canada. It’s not for this. Can you see the blowing drifts? The scoured snow? I went running in that for one hour — and my brother thinks I’ve lost it. He figures I’m doing some ludicrous flip-take on COOL RUNNINGS — that movie about the Jamaican bobsled team. “There you are,” he says, “relentlessly training in the snow so you can perform on some hot tropical island. Maybe you should subtly stitch this theme into one of your next books huh?”

Hah — ‘COOL’ doesn’t cut it bro. Not close. Think ‘FROZEN’ RUNNINGS. ICE TRACKS. CUTTING EDGE …. okay, maybe NUMB SKULL (that would be me)

The thing is, it wasn’t SUPPOSED to snow in the valley. It’s NOVEMBER. Now there is another snowfall warning. My only hope is that my plane will take off this weekend …

And on a warmer, and yes, fuzzier note …. can anyone spot the camouflaged feline on the couch below? Snuggled up with the SULTAN???

That would be Neely Shae of Texas, who I am told is ordinarily very pretty. Um … when you can actually see her, that is Her eyes are closed because she’s swooning over my SULTAN. Of course.

DECEMBER RULES!!!

I spent the day in Squamish, a community about 45 minutes down the Sea to Sky Highway from Whistler, and look what I found! I arrived at Save On Foods just in time to find Stacey unpacking a box of Silhouette’s — and stocking the shelves with RULES OF RE-ENGAGEMENT. She graciously agreed to a photograph :). Thank you Stacey!

(I love that I am brushing shoulders with Koontz and Nora. And I love that the SULTAN was all sold out –  although I have a sneaky suspicion Irene bought them all )

And with RULES on the shelves comes two more reviews. One from Amelia Richard at Cataromance, and another from Tracey West on Amazon. I am honored, ladies — thank you.

T’was a stunningly beautiful – if frigid — day for a drive down south today. That pointy peak along the skyline is Diamond Head. The Sea to Sky one. The Oahu one I shall conquer in 12 days time … I hope.

CAUGHT WITH RULES !!!

Guess who’s been spending time with RULES OF RE-ENGAGEMENT? And with Bubba? :)  Hint — they live in Texas.

You gotta imagine the music from that Smirnoff Ice ad — where character Uri’s vehicle is being being pulled through snow by a team of huskies as he heads for his favorite bar :) :). Goodness, but I do live in a fanatasy world …

Roll on Honolulu Marathon – 12 days to go!!! We leave for the islands in five days time, so I’d better get cracking on that deadline of mine. Oh … right … and find a way to ‘run’ in this Arctic front. I still have training to do. Where was I? Oh yes … roll on Oahu :)
