ACHINGLY BEAUTIFUL

armchair.JPG

Such was my Halloween.

By 5 p.m. the moon hung low over eerily luminous snow-capped peaks and the air was ice crisp. The night, however, was ‘trickier’ to capture photographically than the day. So I leave you instead with this image from my lunch-time run. Armchair Glacier and a chimney I rather wish was mine.

Doctor Liz is having a rough ride. She’s got a biological bomb strapped around her neck. She is cut, dehydrated, delirious, and just about giving birth while on the run for her life in the jungle. She is also in love with a man she knows she cannot live with. He kills for cash. She’s a healer. Grant and his team pulled out of the Sudan and because of it, the aid column to Liz’s refugee camp dried up and her patients — innocent children — died. He knew it would happen, yet he went where the contract went. Now, if she makes it out of this alive, she too will become a mother. Liz needs to think of a future for her child. Grant won’t change for her. And she can’t change who she is for him. It’s why they broke up in the first place …. can they bridge this gap? Can they make it over the savannah alive? Can they stop the bomb? Read more >>> here.

That is a beautiful sight, Loreth. I’m staring at skinny little poplar trees shaking in the wind these days while I’m out running!

And your online read is fantastic…and the discussionn of it engaging as well. Fantastic job!

My turtle costume was a dud last night. Not only was I mistaken for a rock by my Girl Guides the night previous, a trick or treater thought I was a toadstool. sigh. Next year I’m going as a stick man…all black with glowsticks taped to my body?

    Good idea?? yes? yes?

  2. Toni Anderson Says:

OK–the web hates me today!! Meretta, I bet your tortoise/turtle was adorable?? But stick man sounds good ;)

I love your online read Loreth. Dr Liz is da bomb :) Literally.

  3. Kristen Says:

I like the stick man idea, Meretta!

Loving the read, Loreth, though I’m about ready to smack Liz. She has some serious issues with Grant – though he did leave her, I admit. Still.

And I LOVED Re-Engagement!! I REALLY hope your other SS-like book comes through!! :D

  4. Loreth Says:

LOVE the glowstick idea Meretta — Ichabod ;)
