MINUS MANY … DEGREES, THAT IS
There’s a reason people move out west in Canada. It’s not for this. Can you see the blowing drifts? The scoured snow? I went running in that for one hour — and my brother thinks I’ve lost it. He figures I’m doing some ludicrous flip-take on COOL RUNNINGS — that movie about the Jamaican bobsled team. “There you are,” he says, “relentlessly training in the snow so you can perform on some hot tropical island. Maybe you should subtly stitch this theme into one of your next books huh?”
Hah — ‘COOL’ doesn’t cut it bro. Not close. Think ‘FROZEN’ RUNNINGS. ICE TRACKS. CUTTING EDGE …. okay, maybe NUMB SKULL (that would be me)
The thing is, it wasn’t SUPPOSED to snow in the valley. It’s NOVEMBER. Now there is another snowfall warning. My only hope is that my plane will take off this weekend …
Roll on Honolulu Marathon – 10 days to race day!!!
And on a warmer, and yes, fuzzier note
…. can anyone spot the camouflaged feline on the couch below? Snuggled up with the SULTAN???
That would be Neely Shae of Texas, who I am told is ordinarily very pretty. Um … when you can actually see her, that is
Her eyes are closed because she’s swooning over my SULTAN. Of course.
Thank you Bailey! For the photo, and for the truly fabulous review on Isn’t It Romantic!!!

Bailey Stewart Says:
But she is very pretty. She’s a tortoishell. The shot was originally set up for my black/white Maine Coon Aidan, but he wouldn’t cooperate (something about boys not reading romances or some such nonesense), and Bubba and Baileyboo were a definite no-no, so I turned to calm old lady Neely Shae (10 in January). I didn’t even think about the background until after the photo was taken and uploaded. Poor little girl, she deserved a much prettier debut. I’ll have to try to put a picture of her on my blog sometime.
Bailey Stewart Says:
Oh, and the book deserved a great review!

Glad to see that Neely Shae is getting educated. Yep, it took me a while to find her between the colors of the sofa. But she’s there. So, Bailey, you and Bubba are reading “Rules…”? I bought it yesterday while I was getting meds. I didn’t want to be out for 3 hours just to come back with, well meds. I had to have something else to show for all that time.
Reading time has been hard to come by. I have several things that I’ve got to finish by tomorrow, and will if I’m lucky. Then I can get at a bunch of the books. Then I’ve got to hope that a friend will bring her digital camera to work so that I can be photographed in all my non-glory. Tonight I’m going to a seniors’ Christmas banquet with a friend. I don’t have that status legally in Canada yet, but my friend does. I’ve known a lot of these people for a long time so I won’t feel lost. It’s the seniors’ group at church. We shall be dining at the poshest golf club in the London, ON area.
I’m afraid that we’re in for your kind of weather soon, Loreth. Last night at 7:00 p.m. it was 14C, 57F. That’s supposed to be down to 50 right about now and steadily falling until we hit the minuses on Saturday. From the way I felt yesterday, I’d never have thought it was that “warm”. It was windy and drizzling and I was *cold* with my winter coat on.
Best wishes for the Marathon and the training. I hope to have some pictures for you when you get back, if not before. I know you’ll make us all proud.

And even though they’re of snowy scenes, or is it because of that, your pictures are great. I love to see the sun on ice, hoarfrost or snow. Or even snow-covered houses hidden amongst snow-covered trees.
Loreth Says:
Aw, Bailey … I’ll post another Neely Shae “debut” pic anytime. I was just kidding
I can see she is boootiful.
Loreth Says:
Ruby THANK YOU! I’ll let you know how it goes — lol, if I survive, that is. Looking forward to the photos!!! Stay warm.

Wow… I think I started a trend.
And she’s lovely - once I found her!!
