OFFICIALLY ‘TRUE NORTH’

hot-and-hazy.JPG

We drove 30 mins north to this Pemberton farm near the Mount Currie reserve yesterday. Very hot and hazy and mosquito-ridden day. But gloriously beautiful, as always. That peak in the background is Mount Currie herself, complete with plunging avalanche chutes. I plan to come back to take photos around this area in February, in the snow. Because that’s the time of year the hero and heroine of THE HEART OF A RENEGADE come through this region with Dragon Heads Triad members hot on their tail. My hero, a reluctant bodyguard and true renegade, is intimately familiar with this region through his solo backcountry trips. And I’d like to post a photo journal of the places visited in my locally-set Silhouette Romantic Suspense on my website just before the March 2008 release.

And in other news: TRUE NORTH is now the official title of my new SRS mini-series launching next year. I am thrilled!!!! The series will kick off with the first book which is now officially titled MAN HUNTER – which is perfect for the story. So very happy there, too :) . This one sees a Mountie paired with Mantracker heroine. More to come later …

ON TARGET

Meretta Says:
OK. He’s practicing his aerial freestyle jumps and landing in the water so he doesn’t hurt himself while there’s no snow!

YES! YES! — Meretta got it. (And Leanna kept mum :) ) If you ever wondered how they tried those crazy maneuvers without killing themselves, this is it. Below is the view from above the facility:

I could watch them for hours. The bubble jets are started with a hand-held control before the skier goes down the ramp — breaking surface tension for a softer landing (as long as you hit the bubbles). If you can see the small blue barrel along the far side of the pool, there’s a guy sitting in it, warming up.

Boot heap.

CLUE ONE

Not bad guesses … and Spy, at that time he *was* doing breastroke with skis on. Here’s another clue. Does this one help?

THREE GUESSES …

I came across this on my break-from-the-computer-hike today — what do you think this guy was doing?

DEEP

img_2129.jpg

In my thoughts. Deep in deadlines. Which means my blog appearances will be spotty in the next little while. Unless I have news to share – like my new cover. Which I hope to have within the next week or so. And watch this space for new contests as the November launch for SEDUCING THE MERCENARY approaches.

Until then — if you need me, I’m here .. hunched over my computer, or running in my woods …
