“one hot, sexy, bad-ass, this guy…”
This one from Shannon Stacy: “I don’t do book reviews on my blog as a rule. I pretty much suck at them, with no ability to articulate what I like or don’t like about a book. But I’m going to try.
This might be the best romantic suspense I’ve read in a long time—single title OR category.
There is a LOT packed in this book—it’s scary, atmospheric, emotional, romantic…the whole works. So much depth and detail about the remote Yukon area and the people are given without bogging down the tension or the pacing, and the use of the setting is simple incredible. And this Mountie is not the Mountie we normally (and unfortunately) see the American media protraying. He is one hot, sexy, bad-ass, this guy. Both of their backstories are incredibly compelling, as is the villain. I had a couple of “oh, no she won’t” moments and oh, yes she did, which just sucked me in further.
